Hi, This is the sequel to a game a made about 4 years ago named Leopold. It's an online board game, with blended aspects from games like Warhammer, Magic the Gathering and chess. It lives here: http://zatikon.com/Thanks, Gabe

I don't think many people will download and install a game without at least seeing some screenshots. Why have an installer anyway? What's wrong with using an applet or webstart?

Applets are too kludgey, and this forum seems to be the last holdout for java webstart.
You're right about the screenshot though, I'll put one up later today.

Hi
Of course I encourage you to use Java Webstart as I can't use your game like all Linux users. When it's done, if you agree, your game will be added to the Java Game Tome. Please provide a screenshot as SimonH said and I would be really fine if you used a single download procedure rather than a link per operating system. For example, I use Java Webstart and I have only one link for 4 families of operating system (Linux, Unix, Mac and Windows).

Do most linux users have webstart? I'd rather do that then try to make a linux installer.

All Linux and Mac users will use WebStart. All Java developers will use webstart as well.(At least for testing a game).

You've convinced me to add webstart support. I'll have in up within a couple days.

Fine. Java Webstart is something standard and is integrated in Java whereas you spoke about this as a separate thing. If you go to the Java Game Tome, you will see many games using it. If you need an example, watch my JNLP file that is used to launch TUER.

Hi,
I tried out your game. There where no other players online so I played against the computer for a bit. The game was fun tho I did not need to deploy my whole army against the first two computer AI players as they would only put out about 3 units.
Also I think I lost by not having a unit on my castle and an AI rider rode onto it. It is when that happened my connection to the server was cut instead of going back to the main menu?

Played nice. I saw a couple of other humans but did not manage to play against them. Got to the 16:th AI. It's frustrating to get random units when you buy new ones.

Ok, it works under Linux and Mac as far as I know. Maybe my question is stupid but I must ask it... Does it work under Windows?

Well, when you have some time, I suggest you to add your game into the Tome, you don't need to be registered, it is very fast, it would save me some time, please.

Fun little game. Here are some improvements I would add:
1. Having to click each square a unit moves is annoying. If I can move 3 units I should be able to move those 3 units in one click.
2. As long as I can still move the End Turn button should be less apparent. Once I have run out of commands, then highlight that button so that I know my turn is almost done.
3. The remaing Commands is a very important statistic as all moves decrement it. I would display it visually such as a bar or tokens or something.
4. It wasn't apparent when I could bring units out and when I couldn't.

it's a fun game but some parts of the gui aren't that intuitive, and can you move the surrender button away from the 'End turn' button or make it ask if you're sure!
